I was born in INDIA , although i am a secularist but i am a born Hindu. My mother is a devout devotee of Lord Shiva and my father prays for almost an hour everyday. My tribal religion is something that the world doesn't yet know about, but still i am proud of it.
Now i am not very religious person but i respect all those who are. It takes a lot of dedication to dedicate yourself to a belief such strong.
No, i am not an atheist, i BELIEVE in God. I believe in KARMA and i believe in PEACE.
Now i was raised as a liberal, i live in 21st century , i am secularist and i have no hobby to poke my nose into other's business.
Still, what provoked me to write such an religiously influenced piece was a book i read. No offence to his literally prowess or his religious views but i personally was offended, as a citizen of 21st century liberal world, at his orthodox criticism.
Now this man, Terry Law , whom i respect for all that he has done as a missionary, is a stout christian who believes in the power of name. Now that is utterly respectable and noble. But what surprises me is his interpretation of what was said once upon a time.
I am not a christian but i have read bibles , i have read stories about the Son of the God and i celebrate Christmas.
At some point of time Mr.Law isn't able to hide his sneer and animosity to other religions and openly criticizes them.
He believes and believes blindly that only christian will ever reach Heaven, which personally sounds absurd.
I am not much of a heavenly believer but i believe God made him, God made me, i have bones that grow of calcium and i am sure he too has the same, my blood is red and to my knowledge Christians too bleed red , so where does Christianity show?
I remember when i was a little kid , my grandfather use to tell me , " When we die , we leave everything behind , we are no longer men , no longer women , no longer rich , no longer poor, we are all just souls that according to our Karma will either find solace or loom in distress. "
We are not Christians , we are not Muslims , we are not Hindus at the Heaven's door, we are the fragment of Human that we once were.
Now i had heard that Christianity and Muslim religion are somewhat to an extent similar in beliefs , the religion of Books. But Mr.Law has no intention to believe in brotherhood and respect.
He recalls an incident in Kabul where he fondly rejects Allah as a demonic being , a Fallen angel who strayed to the path of Satan.
I never knew Christians were so disrespectful. A billion plus population who stand every morning with their heads bowed in prayer to their Allah , is it fair to dismiss their belief in a 200 page manuscript that you call , " A Fight of every Believer " ? Is it?
I live in India , my father is a soldier in the army , he fought terrorists half his life and i have lost so many people i know to the Jihadis. I am a little biased to Muslims , i won't hide this. War makes you skeptical and loss suspicious. I am human and i am allowed that much leverage.
But never in my dreams i'll go up to a Muslim and tell him your Allah is a demon. Not because i would be afraid, not because i am secularist because i am a human as much as he is.
Now i have a few Muslim friends and i am learning slowly about their culture and i must say whatever the tension between Hindu-Muslim, i can come to respect the parts and bits that i understand of their religion.
My elders protect me, my tribal religion is KIRANTI , ancestor-worshiping, somewhat like the Red Indians. My family follows Hinduism, one of my best friend is Muslim , my sister is about to marry a Christian guy and i am a Secularist.
Never in my 22 years of life, i had come across someone who said you are denied Heaven for you are not a Christian.
When i stand naked, beneath the clothes , beneath the skin, when i put away everything, aren't we suppose to be all the same. The same Human being?
Well that is what i was taught.
And if only Christians could go to Heaven and others were denied entry than its alright i'll make my heaven here around me. But i will not teach my kids to say Allah is a demonic being and Hindus, Buddhists are just going nowhere, because only Jesus can take you to Heaven.
I deny myself Heaven if that makes me less Human and more Christian.
And if Mr.Law asks me, " Jesus was the son of God, if everyone could take you to Heaven than why only he had to die? " I would say , " My God had billions of son, each man who stands in this world is his son, even him and every martyr , every hero who died for a cause has a path to Heaven. I am sure they were not denied entry. "
Jesus didn't say become a Christian to attain Heaven , he said follow my words. His words are of goodwill , humanity , freedom and peace.
So wherever Heaven is i am sure Jesus doesn't stand there and play bias to Christians. And aren't we living in 21st century with liberal minds? What was said 1000 years ago was apt for that time. Jesus did what was best for that era. Now is a different time and a different world.
His words should be interpreted to spread goodwill and brotherhood not orthodoxy.
Please stop disgracing God's word just because you are stuck in your small Pandora of orthodoxy.
Wherever Heaven lies i'll find my way to it not with books and prayers but with deeds i did.
